Start a career that’s really going places

People need to get to work, home and everywhere in between and businesses rely on our roads. With a rich history dating back to 1926 and an exciting future ahead, Main Roads Western Australia is the WA State Government agency responsible for managing the State’s road network safely, connecting people and places. Main Roads is not just about roads.

It’s about people.

What work will I be doing?

Main Roads Western Australia is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Metropolitan Region as a Civil Construction Apprentice!

With opportunities in Jandakot and Neerabup, working as part of a welcoming and tight knit team, these Civil Construction Apprenticeships commence in January. You will work full time and grow your knowledge and skills in civil construction and maintenance experience in and around the Metropolitan Perth road network.

Along with some formal training, you’ll learn on-the-job, guided by your supervisor and a network of support that will help you feel like a valued member of the community. The attached information sheet provides more information on the role.

What we are looking for

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with strong problem-solving skills who love to get involved and take on new challenges and responsibilities. You enjoy working as part of a team and have a genuine interest in road maintenance and construction activities. We’re looking for people with a ‘can-do’ attitude, who are committed to working in their local region.

How does an Apprenticeship work?

As part of the Apprenticeship, you will:

  • work full time with Main Roads while completing your three-year apprenticeship
  • complete formal training in a Certificate III in Civil Construction
  • be supported every step of the way – our friendly trainee coordinator is dedicated to ensuring you are developing and learning at your best.

At the end of program, you will complete your Certificate III in Civil Construction and enjoy an ongoing career with long term development opportunities at Main Roads.
