What is your new role about?
To lead engagement and strengthen relationships with Traditional Owners across the Horizon Power service area to ensure consistency and “beyond compliance” outcomes in all agreement making, aligning to Horizon Power’s guiding principles and strategy. By extension, this role also manages Horizon Power’s on-country cultural immersion program.
Your new role will:
Implement Horizon Powers Traditional Owner land negotiation framework, engagement planning and benefits policy.
Implement Horizon Powers Aboriginal Engagement Strategy (AES) for operating on Aboriginal land including agreement making and partnerships.Establish and maintain key relationships with Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs), Land Councils, Native Title representative bodies and other groups representing the interests of Traditional Owners.
Manage end to end Traditional Owner engagement activities (plan, co-ordinate, schedule, monitor etc.) and report across the Horizon Power service area.
Support all business areas (as required) to deliver safe, effective, and culturally sensitive engagement through feedback, advice, and upskilling of colleagues for best-practice Aboriginal engagement.
Lead on-the-ground engagement with Aboriginal customers/communities as needed by Customer Experience to support the Aboriginal Engagement Model.
Our new Traditional Owner Engagement Lead will have:Degree qualification or equivalent experience in project management, social sciences, business, community engagement, Aboriginal heritage or related discipline is highly desirable.
Knowledge of PBCs and land councils – functions, processes, and delivery of services to Aboriginal people and communities.
Understanding of legislation, policies and strategies relating to Aboriginals affairs.
Knowledge of Traditional Owner groups and strong understanding of Aboriginal protocols in Western Australian context.
Demonstrated MS Office systems (Word, Excel, MS Project) knowledge and application.
