There are a lot of posts going around on social media spreading false information about the COVID outbreak in the Northern Territory and it is creating fear with many people about vaccinations, lockdowns and mandates.
Vaccine rates are lagging for First Nations people and this fake information and social media posts are putting the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people at risk.
Cameron Wilson is a journalist with Crikey, he has reported for many years on misinformation, fake news and conspiracy theories and he has recently wrote an article investigating where this false information, targeting First Nations people is coming from.
