Make it Count is a series of programs in the lead up to the 2022 Australian Federal Election talking with leaders across the First Nations community about treating our vote seriously.

Hosted by Noongar Radio Breakfast presenter Mark Patrick, each episode will talk about how we can stay engaged and cast a valid and well thought out vote.

In episode one, Mark was joined by Kenny Bedford, Indigenous Engagement Lead at From The Heart, the campaign for a constitutional voice to parliament.

Kenny Bedford is from the Meruam Tribe, Erub, Torres Strait. He is the father of four children and was the Co-Convenor for the Thursday Island Referendum Council Dialogue .

Kenny attended the Uluru Constitutional Convention in May 2017 and is a signatory to the Uluru Statement from the Heart. Kenny is a board director of Reconciliation Australia, a member of the National NAIDOC Committee and is currently studying a Masters of Indigenous Business Leadership at Monash University.

He is a former Deputy Mayor of the Torres Strait Island Regional Council and former Torres Strait Regional Authority Member for Erub.
