As of July, the state government is now enforcing the ban of most single use plastic products.

The banned items include plastic cutlery, plates, drink stirrers as well as food containers.

Jo O’Connor is a senior environmental officer from the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation and is working to reduce the impact of single-use plastics on our environment.

She joined Mark on breakfast to chat about why these plastics are being banned, what other products will be banned in stage two as well as how to get involved.
