Nicky Hayes is the owner of Spinifex skateboards, a skateboard company from the Northern Territory.
Nicky is from Ltyentye Apurte (also known as Santa Teresa), a remote community which is about 80 kilometers south east of Alice Springs.
Out there, he helped get the first indoor skatepark built in a remote community in the NT.
Nicky also teaches both girls and boys how to skateboard in that skatepark as the NT’s first indigenous skateboard instructor.
Nicky started Spinifex skateboards as a way to further facilitate more skate trips for the kids, with the sale of merchandise from the brand helping to fund these.
